YOUR PATH

Yoga is for everyone and whatever stage you find yourself at ...congratulations! You will probably never turn your back on yoga. Yoga is not simply about feeling fit and healthy, it's about the ultimate union of mind body spirit. Once you begin to embrace it, you will hopefully find it liberating and life changing.

THE STYLE

Mary is a north London based teacher and she takes classes all over the London area.

Her classes are generally dynamic in style but are adapted to any level including complete beginners. The practice usually follows a theme or idea so classes are varied, allowing practitioners to focus on many aspects of yoga. In addition to this, the sessions will often follow her own sequences based on the Quantum method of yoga which encompasses the principles of Ayurveda (the science of life). In this aspect, the classes are constructed to suit the individual mind/body constitution.

Keeping to traditional principles, particularly that of Vinyasa, breath is sychronised with movement. Honouring her fundamental training in yoga, she encourages self-practice away from her classes.

YOGA TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

 Contact or tell your teacher of any ailments or injuries before class.Do not eat at least an hour before class.Wear comfortable clothing that's not too baggy.Keep your socks off for better grip (unless you have a medical condition)Buy your own mat if you can (it's more hygenic)Try not to drink water during the class as it will dampen the digestive fire (agni) in your belly needed for a true Vinyasa practice.Don't get bamboozled with all the terminology when you first try classes. Your best is good enough and breath!When you are more experienced, try to plan some self practice.Don't take it all too seriously - have fun!
